Your Quick Travel Guide To Bangkok

BangkokIf this is going to be your first time in Bangkok, you are in for quite a treat. It really is an amazing city. The moment you step off your plane, you will be surrounded by some of the most exciting sights and sounds in the entire continent of Asia.  You are probably already aware of Thailand's reputation for beauty, mystery, intrigue and its capital city capture all of that in spades. While you're here, you're going to want to know specifically what to see, what to eat, and how to get around, so we're going to help you with that.

Transportation

There are a number of means of transportation throughout the city of Bangkok. It all depends on where you want to go and how you want to get there. Public transportation systems are more than adequate and they are by far the most popular means of transport. However, you might also want to try some of the more exotic means. Doing so will certainly increase your experience of the adventure of international travel. Some of those more exotic means are water taxis, motorbike taxis, and tuk-tuks. A ride in a tuk-tuk is an important part of a trip to Thailand, even though their exhaust smells bad.

Tuk-Tuk in BangkokGrand Palace

There is plenty to see and do in Bangkok as well and one of the most popular things to see is the Grand Palace. If you do see the Grand Palace (and you certainly should), don't throw away your ticket. It also gains you entrance into the Dusit Palace, another must see. For things to do, it depends on how athletic your inclinations are. Bicycle tours are popular, but if you are looking for something more relaxing (but still engaging), you might try a canal tour or take in a cultural performance. Of course, you shouldn't leave the city without enjoying one of those world famous Thai massages.

Thai Food

If you don't like Thai food, you might think you're going to have a hard time finding something to eat in Bangkok. That isn't true. There are no less than a whopping 50,000 places to eat in this city, and many of them feature various international cuisines. Of course, if you do like Thai food, you will have no trouble finding it! If you're feeling particularly adventurous, you might even sample some of the bugs and rats sold at the street carts! It will be an experience you will never forget.
