Mexico's Beautiful Beaches

If you are traveling to Mexico, chances are you want to end up at the perfect beach. Rest assured, there are plenty of fine places to choose from. Mexico is home to some of the world's greatest beaches, and depending on what you're looking for, you'll find the one right for you.  From unique spots with great features, to coasts with wonderful activities, to deserted white sand shores, Mexico has a little something for every beach goer. Here are some of the best and most beautiful beaches that Mexico has to offer:

Cozumel has a reputation for attracting a high volume of tourists, but there are certainly calmer places in town if you want a little more quiet time. Cozumel is home to some of the most beautiful beaches in the world and offers world class opportunities for snorkeling and scuba diving. Parts of Cozumel may be more crowded than many other Mexican beaches, but there's no greater place to have a typical Mexican beach getaway than on this outstanding island.

Acapulco may be the greatest beach in Mexico for those seeking an authentic Mexican experience. While Acapulco is the largest beach city in Mexico, the majority of its travelers and tourists are Mexican residents, not foreigners, meaning you'll get a much more authentic experience.

The beaches in Acapulco are beyond outstanding, and offer myriad opportunities for those seeking fun. In addition to fabulous snorkeling and scuba diving (and, of course, sunbathing), Acapulco is known for its incredible cliff diving. Those seeking a little adventure on the beach will find themselves right at home in Acapulco, launching themselves from the landmark rocks into the sea.

For all of Acapulco's beautiful beaches, the city is best known for its top notch nightlife. The city was originally popularized by Hollywood stars in the 1950's, and the nightlife is as big now as it was then. Acapulco is the perfect place for the beach goer who wants an adventure both during the day and at night.

Cancun is possibly the most well known beach in Mexico, and it isn't always filled with rowdy college kids on spring break. While Cancun is one of the largest tourist destinations in Mexico, it has arguably the nation's prettiest beaches. The endless stretches of pure white sand and perfect sea are one of the iconic images of Mexico's natural beauty.

Playa Del Carmen

Playa Del Carmen also has its share of rave reviews. It features a quirky downtown reminiscent of authentic Mexico, even if you often find yourself surrounded by tourists. One of the joys of Playa Del Carmen is that everyone travels there for the beaches. Tourists aren't there for sport, or for nightlife: they're there to sunbathe. Playa Del Carmen is a great spot to find an uninhabited corner of a beach, set up a chair and a cooler, and stay put all day long.

Mexico is filled with beautiful beaches, and each one has its perks, so you can can't really go wrong. Still, if you want to ensure yourself a great experience on a beach in Mexico, you might consider traveling to one of the four mentioned above.
