The resort of Chamonix is thought of as a real mecca for all ski enthusiasts. White Water Rafting

This is a great sport that is offered here in Chamonix. It takes place between the months of May and September during which times the rivers are at their fullest with the melting snow coming off the mountains above. Whether it is your first time or you are looking to push yourself on some of the challenging grades this area has to offer. A short trip through the tunnel also takes you into Italy, on the other side of Mont Blanc, where further rapids await.

With such a fantastic backdrop of Mont Blanc massif range, it is hard to beat for a setting, as you tee off from this great spot you can enjoy prime views of some of the greatest mountain ranges in Chamonix including Les Drus, La Verte and of course not forgetting the famous Mont Blanc. Adventure Parks

Chamonix is home to a huge variety of adventure parks during the summer months. This is an adrenaline based activity that allows you to climb through the forests on a variety of ropes and ladders, whist being safely harnesses in. This activity in Chamonix caters particularly well for families, with smaller courses for the younger children. However, they also cater well for the older and more adventuresses of people, which include jumping from a zip wire suspended high in the air over lakes and walking on rope ladders in some of the tallest trees! 

Walking and Hiking 

For those of you who wish to explore the mountains, but without such extremes that climbing can bring, there are over 400 miles of hiking paths to enjoy, again with something for everyone. You can enjoy some challenge day trips or venture out for a long weekend camping in the mountains staying in refuges as you go, on simply enjoy a relaxing stroll along the valley floor taking in the wildlife and enjoying  the stunning mountain range that surrounds you. With so much to choose from, you will have no trouble finding a route that is perfect for your group. 

Getting to Chamonix

Chamonix also benefits for being a very easy resort to get to. It is just an hour’s drive from Geneva airport making is accessible for short or long stays alike, and is a popular place to visit from the UK for even just a weekend. If you fly into Geneva hiring a car is simple but can be expensive. Alternatively and always the cheaper option is to book an Airport transfer.
